Dude, school quality is deteriorating. instead of fixin up entrance examinations, we need to go back to the 250 PURE RANKED students, and not the 150 public 100 private (am i right?). Based on the information ive gathered, ranks from the public schools are like, uber low, and still they manage to get in since they are within the cutoff of the 150 students. From 2 dept. heads, the first year batch is "pam public" quote un quote di galing sa akin yan. My comment is the mayor should not offer our school to undeserving students, im not saying public school students are not good, pero na dadala sa MunSci ung ugali na yan. Graduate ako ng public, but look, its not just on my observation but others. So what if the majority of passers are from private schools? thats why you rank these people, because they passed in this intellectual order. Ewan, this is just my opinion, and judging from what i hear, i share the same thoughts with those in the higher echelons of the school. Who knows, dba sir emman.

Parang OT no, kaka log in ko lang eh

The admission qualifications can't be used as a measure of school quality. I think that this system was created to give students with potential a chance at a good education. People in private schools can afford to study in schools with high standards. In addition, exam rankings does not necessarily reflect a student's ability. A student with great potential may have a low ranking because their teachers in elementary sucked.

On the other hand, using the "Pure ranks" as ETF suggests may encourage public schools to raise the quality of education to MunSci standards. It's up to MunSci (both teachers and students) to show that being in MunSci is a great thing and something to work hard for.
It's been so long...

Of course i was referring to the latter, like the current froshguys. Anyways, the entrance exam cannot be so accurate, but definitely you rank em people on how high they do on their exams, it's like how well they perform and how good they do the test that nets them the rank. Yeah you can guess, but the probability is always 1/4. Mr. X said that before a certain elementary school around the vicinity perpetually failed every year to admit more than two students, and this year, guess what, 7 kids got in. What I'm saying is, why would there be an entrance exam, if you are still choose those who failed in favor of the "slot allocation", rather than those who legitimately passed, but failed to be accepted since the terms in which they passed (ranking) was not considered, due to the fact that they are not within the cut-off of their specific class (private school grads). Mr. JC is definitely correct that, to make the passing rates higher, the public schools should pull up their standards so that their education would be at par with other schools, instead of relying on the cut off.

Additional question for verification, I heard that froshies are crammed in 50-60 kids per class? I HEARD just last bandage. Any truth on this matter? Because definitely this will become the wick of deterioration of quality education that kids used to receive in MSHS.

Sana ibalik na lang yung dating rules sa pagkuha ng students. Kitang-kita naman yung epekto ng puro public e. Hindi naman sa anti-public ako, pero mali yun e. Pano naman yung mga taga-private na mas may 'brains' talaga? Tsk. Sayang naman. Panget ng batch ng Freshmen ngayon. Panget ng ugali. Hindi pa marunong gumalang sa higher batches. Hindi rin sila ganon ka sipag mag-aral. Sinayang yung slot e.

well... to shed light on the rumors that ETF heard... matter of fact is that the freshmen still enjoy the regular number of students per class from 35-40... though this time... there is the addition of a new section

(there are a total of 6 classes in the first year, in contrast with the regular 5 classes per year) <--- isa pang pang-asar dahil mahihirapan ako nito sa kanila!? 6 sections? ay naku?

nyahahahaha... they better meet my standards... :P

::EDIT::

deadline of application for the admissions test is this friday/saturday...

ok....haha. Sila mag-adjust, hindi tayo (i mean, ung entrance exams).

For all I know matagal na gusto ng munsci magkaroon ng online website, and this is easily achievable kasi lagi naman online si sirEman and I know a lot of the faculty members na inclined din sa technology... What I don't understand eh sa tagal-tagal na plano na yan (since 2005) eh wala pa din materialization.
