To participate in our online forums, you must agree to follow our rules and policies. We encourage active debate and discussion and free speech, but remember your membership is not a right, it is a privilege given to you by the owners of this forum. You therefore agree that you will cooperate with any requests of the forum Moderators and/or Administrators, and give serious attention to any suggestions or recommendations you receive from them. You also acknowledge that the staff of Munsci forums reserves the right to delete any message(s) or portion(s) thereof.
Moderators
Moderators at this discussion board have the duty to enforce the forum rules listed below. They are also empowered to make positive actions that improve the general well-being of the board and its community. Therefore, be aware that Moderators are able to take any necessary and appropriate actions. Moderators answer for their official actions to their fellow Moderators and to the Administrators.
User Complaints
Users may disagree with the decisions or actions of the Moderators and/or Administrators, but disagreements, criticism and the like are not to be aired within the discussion topics. They may be discussed in the "Technical Issues and Forum Suggestions" section of the munsci forums.
By registering and participating here you agree to respect and abide by the following standards:
1. This forum and its server are private property. You're here only because you're invited to be here. We can revoke that invitation at any time for any reason, or no reason at all.
2. You agree not to be disruptive. The following are some but not all guidelines on the behavior required to comply with this rule. This is not an exhaustive set of rules and it is left to the discretion of Moderators and Administrators to decide what is and is not acceptable behavior.
- Do not post material that is knowingly defamatory, illegal, abusive, threatening, harassing, or generally viewed by a reasonable person as being a derogatory epithet.
- You will not advocate what is generally accepted as illegal activity. If a moderator cannot readily determine if a post is a joke, then it will be treated as serious material and subject to deletion/editing.
- Comments about other users, insults and flames are not acceptable.
- Munsci forums tries to be an intellectually-stimulating environment in which users exchange ideas in the spirit of discovery. Poisoning that environment is highly discouraged. Please exercise tact and refrain from insulting others or disrupting ongoing discussions with inflammatory speech.
- Hyperbolic or overly-emotive language, overt negativity and imagery, such as saying "Muslims are morons", are generally discouraged.
- Off-topic posting or hijacking of threads is inappropriate.
- Calling a fellow poster "delusional", "deceitful", or a similarly inflammatory accusation, is not acceptable even if you believe that the accusation is true.
- In general, any material that is deliberately goading should not be posted.
- Members will refrain from retaliating to inflammatory material with further insults or inappropriate comments.
- You will not post material that is sexually or otherwise obscene and has little or no educational purpose or significant relevance to an ongoing and legitimate discussion.
- If you encounter a post that you believe contravenes the rules of the board then you are encouraged to alert a forum moderator.
- Moderators and Administrators do not monitor Private Messages (PMs). However, you agree not to use the Private Message system to circumvent the IIDB rules regarding insults, threats or harassment. Should such abuse come to the attention of the Moderators or Administrators, it will be properly dealt with.
3. Expression of hate. We do not tolerate hateful messages. This includes things such as racism, sexism, xenophobia, religious bashing, open support of terrorism, homophobia, or ultra nationalism. If you generally have a problem with an entire group of people because of their nationality, religion, race or sexuality, that is your problem. Don't make it ours too.
4. No Spamming. Do not deliberately create repetitive posts or threads in the same forum. You may do so in 2 separate forums, at the moderator's discretion and as long as it is within the forum's content.
5. No Advertising. No creating threads or multiple posts of any kind about your own site, a product you sell, a group you belong to etc, without prior approval of the site Administration. You will not advertise or solicit other members to buy, sell or peruse any products or services through this discussion forum. Chain letters and junk mail are strictly prohibited. Doing so will likely result in a ban.
6. Respect Privacy. You will not violate a person's privacy by publishing information that could be considered private and personal without first having obtained that person's permission.
7. No foul language in any portion of a user's title, signature, location, etc.
8. Signatures must be no more than 5 horizontal lines of standard sized text, blank lines (spacing) included. Oversized text results in fewer lines permitted. Colored, flashing or otherwise distracting sigline displays can be removed at the discretion of Munsci forums staff.
9. English and Tagalog will be the only recognized official languages of discussion.
10. Thread titles should be uniform, kept short, simple and concise.
11. Bumping of threads should consist of a post with "substance" or something that could add value to the thread. Remember, we look at quality over quantity. Consistent commission of this will result to a "Reset" of the thread number.
12. In an effort to become more reader friendly, text speak will not be allowed. Proper capitalization is also encouraged. Something like this "WeLcoMe to EverYonE!" isn't pleasant and refreshing to the eyes. Violators would be given their appropriate sanctions
